We got to—or had to, depending on how you look at it (I choose got to)—pick every piece of this wall stone by hand from an old quarry around the corner, tiptoeing through a field of scattered tailings, doing our best not to think too hard
“You dig a nice hole,” I told Andy, the same old-time mason who thought Lyme had gotten to my brain.
