Rock Rest - Stone Circle at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

The Backwoods Trail at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens gets a little steep. So we collaborated with Prospect Design and the CMBG staff to create a place to catch your breath.

Last year we built some troll-inspired stone pillars to mark the entrance to the The Backwoods Trail, leading Garden visitors to the shores of the Sheepscot River and the Fairy House Village.

To build Rock Rest, we sourced the same granite used for the pillars. It was reclaimed from an 1800’s era bridge near Boston that was decommissioned and demolished.

To minimize our impact on the visitor experience at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, we cut everything off site and reassembled on site.
