Stonework on North Haven

- A dry-laid wall build on North Haven, Maine -

I love stonework. I love the process itself. That process was amplified on this most recent build on North Haven.

I stayed on the island, steps away from the wall I was building. Each day followed the same rhythm: wake up, drink coffee by the water, stretch, then work on the wall until it was time for dinner. No commute, no coffee shops, no meetings, no distractions. Just a beautiful property, a pile of stone, and the useful pressure of a ferry to catch.

For nine days it was just the wall. These opportunities to “get away” and focus solely on the work don’t come along very often. I’m grateful when they do.
